Today's customer had an annoying issue with the engine management light keep coming on due to a fault on the heater plugs, after changing the suspect heater plug, the code was still present, and the engine light still came on, He then contacted me to see what the issue could be and what we could do for him, i explained it was more than likely a 'short' in the wiring and typically needs tracing and rectifying to sort it out, however and as he explained, it's more costly and time-consuming and having spent monies already elsewhere to no avail, asked if we could simply delete that P code from the ECU, i don't like or advice this normally, however! The heater plugs in a modern day diesel aren't a massive issue on the rest of the vehicle, so i agreed and we had to meet in Sainsbury's car park in Nottingham (due to the road and access in Notts now) 20 mins later and as you can see, 1 P code deleted and no more engine light for said problem!
